Every year, thousands of growling F-Bodies ascend upon beautiful Myrtle Beach, SC — and this year was full of excitement and awesome cars. During the days of October 9th, 10th, and 11th, this year, South Carolina was overran by some of the coolest Firebirds and Camaros on the east coast. The annual F-Body Beach Bash attracted many enthusiasts to this beach town for three days of F-Body centric excitement.
On the agenda was:
- A meet and greet cruise-in on Thursday
- Track day at Myrtle Beach Speedway with hand drop drags and track laps on Friday
- An all F-Body cruise down the historic Ocean Boulevard
- A massive all F-Body car show on Saturday wrapped the bash up
The casual meet and greet is designed to allow event goers to scope out each others cars and talk shop before things get into full swing.
From there it was track time where drivers could indulge in autocross, track runs, street drags, and an exhaust competition where the *best* sounding exhaust was on the line.
The Ocean Blvd night cruise allowed the group to prowl the strip and it put on quite the show!
To wrap it up, a car show allowed owners to show off their rides for fellow enthusiasts and onlookers to see.
The F-Body enthusiast is perhaps one of the most passionate and committed of any kind of gear head, even though the platform met its demise many years ago. While others joined in, like drivers of 5th gen Camaros, Corvettes, and even G8s, events like these prove that the spirit of the F-Body culture is still alive and well.
