Air Flow Research Sponsors Car Show/Autocross With V8Builds

nova [1]For its first outing, V8Builds [2] took to the track where participants could put the hammer down and run their car at the famous Willow Springs International Raceway. As you might have guessed, V8Builds is all about V8 engines, whether it’s an OE application, or a swap into another vehicle. Bottom line, if it’s a V8, it’s welcome.

With Air Flow Research [3] sponsoring a second event, V8Builds heads out to Fontana this time around for a car show and autocross. Now that participants have tried their skills on the big track, it’s time to tighten things up and see what kind of track Racing Byrds laid out for everyone.

Rob and Trish Byrd are the dynamic duo of Racing Byrds [5], and have been the go to team for autocross all over the Southwest  – as far away as Vegas, and as close as Fontana. Each track takes time, and the layout is never the same from event to event. Choosing the right sweeper, the ultimate switchbacks, and the right turns takes some engineering, and Racing Byrds gets it done.

In addition to the car show and the autocross this Saturday at Fontana, expect a couple of raffles to take place as well. Since V8 Builds is all about V8s, it would seem very fitting that the first raffle is for a set of Hedman [6] LS Swp exaust manifolds. These cast iron manifolds are new from Hedman and designed for American musclecars and trucks. They’re compact and durable, and available in four different finishes.

Not into the LS scene? How about an AEM [9] Wideband A/FR Guage? This slim version of the AEM Electronics X-Series Wideband UEGO A/FR Sensor Controller is also being raffled off. These were just introduced at SEMA last fall as well.

If you’re looking to make your car handle better on the street and at the track, another raffle taking place will be for an Eibach [10] Suspension kit, including coil springs and sway bars, front and rear. All three raffle prizes will be at the Fontana event this Saturday, from 11am-5pm.
