UMI Performance has been manufacturing performance components for Chevys since the company opened its doors in 2003. With racing and high performance in mind, Ryan Kirkwood and the UMI Performance crew keep an eye open for new opportunities to provide new items that are completely made in the USA for high performance enthusiasts.
One of the latest products to go from the design table to the manufacturing area of the facility is a Air Conditioner delete panel for 1970 – 1981 GM F-body Camaros and Firebirds.
Anyone looking to shoehorn a bigger cubic inch engine into the F-body’s engine bay, or simply to drop unnecessary weight from the front end of your car, will want to check out UMI Performance’s A/C delete panel which allows the car builder to remove the existing air conditioning and heater box from the firewall.
The CNC machined panel mounts in the factory holes with your existing fasteners and creates a clean firewall area. Not only does it look great but it greatly improves the amount of room available in the engine compartment. More room means more cubic inches and everyone already knows that there is no replacement for displacement!
The 0.125-inch thick aluminum panel (Part# 2650) is available in a sanded finish, which is ready for your paint color, or powder coated UMI red or black. This, like all of the other UMI Performance Products, is designed and manufactured with pride in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania.
