Posted on Grassroots Motorsports, we laid eyes on a truck with a heap of potential. Check out this 1965 Chevrolet C10 pickup that is looking for a new home.
Owner Andrew Grannis of Cleveland, Ohio, has taken good care of this classic Chevy. He said his plan for the truck was to drop in a more formidable transmission, and turn it into a tow rig. But plans change, and now this cool hauler is up for grabs.
According to Andrew, this shortbed has almost no rust, save for some superficial marks on the frame. However, there is some rust on the rocker panels. With no rust on the bed sides or cab corners, this pickup looks to be a reliable driver as well.
Under the hood sits a 400 cubic-inch small-block engine that was reclaimed from under the hood of a 1970 Caprice. The engine has been bored .030 inches oversized, and was rebuilt in 1989. The engine also has ceramic headers, and a Holley carburetor with an automatic choke.
Mounted behind the steering tires is a disc brake kit to provide good stopping power, and an air ride suspension system levels the stance and makes this hauler even cooler. Andrew installed a conservative c-notch in the rear frame rials for clearance. “It runs extremely well, and has been dead reliable for me,” said Andrew.
Andrew also mentioned that the truck has a new bed floor, which the previous owner completed using wood and a thin coat of black satin paint.
According to Andrew, in city driving, no matter the traffic or weather conditions, the truck runs at 185 degrees Fahrenheit all day long. On the highway, it runs a bit warmer at 205 degrees Fahrenheit.
