’62 Bubble Top Bel Air With Billet Specialties Components

[1]

If your looking for a true blast from the past, how about Danny Johnson’s 1962 Chevy Bubble Top Bel Air built by  RPM Hot Rods [2] featuring Billet Specialties [3] components?

RPM Hot Rods in Warrendale, Pennsylvania, specializes in building custom project cars and currently supports 14 full time employees who all have the passion and desire to build one off custom vehicles. For the past 9-years, RPM owner Curt Ukasik has been making his hobby a career while making car enthusiast’s dreams come true. Ukasik’s crew uses a lot of the same companies to source unique and specialty items for their custom builds, Billet Specialties is one of those companies.

[4]Billet Specialties product line includes over 600 accessory products and over 90 wheel styles. Whether it’s interior or exterior, Billet Specialties always seems to have just the right custom component for enthusiast’s project car builds.

RPM Hot Rods and Billet Specialties were featured in a project car build that won a spot to compete in the Goodguys [5] Custom Rod of the Year selection. Danny Johnson’s RPM built 1962 Bel Air sports a variety of Billet Specialties custom components and is highlighted with Billet Specialties custom wheels. Johnson’s “bubble top” was selected during the Texas Nationals event earlier this month.

In addition to the Billet Specialties custom touches, the Johnson’s Bel Air also features Air ride suspension [6], 502 CI engine with fuel injection, Billet Specialties Tru Trac, 700R4 Transmission,  and Corvette Z06 disc brakes. The Mississippi based Johnson managed to get the car a featured spot in last year’s SEMA tradeshow in Las Vegas.

It’s quite possible that this could be the Good Guys 2012 Custom Rod of the Year at the Scottsdale Nationals this year. Stay tuned and remember that you saw it here first.
