Thanks to some insight from GM Authority, it has come to our attention that while the 2015 Corvette Z06 is by no means an inexpensive or even moderately priced car here in the United States, we should apparently count our blessings.

In a country inundated with high-performance cars courtesy of Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, and Porsche just to name a few, the 2015 Z06 is still being imported for those more suited to the sound and performance of the front-engine V8, and the accompanying thunderous exhaust notes thanks to the supercharged 6.2-litre LT4.

However, their desire for an import comes at a price. The new Vette has a U.S. base price of $78,995, with the convertible versions fetching an additional five thousand dollars. Again not inexpensive, but it is a heck of a lot of car for the money. Well those in Germany can expect to pay €99,500 (USD $123,836) for a base Z06, making the convertibles about $130,059.

For those really looking for the ultimate in performance, they can opt for the Z07 performance package which includes: giant Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, a full carbon fiber aerodynamics package and Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup tires. Across the pond, this option adds another €16,500, bringing the MSRP for a Z07 equipped coupe to an equivalent of about $144,371… Ouch!

The European versions supposedly are rated to 659 hp, nine more then ours, perhaps due to differences in emissions and/or fuel type. The torque rating remains the same at 650 lb-ft. If you are currently residing in Germany with both the desire and means to purchase one of Chevy’s super cars, then you only have to wait until spring and they should be available.
