RMHC Raffling a Sting Ray, a Z06, and $40,000 Cash!

RMHCCVMost of you that frequently visit Corvette Online have probably seen a few different news posts about two beautiful Corvettes that will be raffled off later this year. The cars are both stunning in their own ways, but most importantly, is the organization that the raffles will benefit and where you can expect to see your contributions make a difference.

We are all ultimately here because of our passion for the automobile, specifically the Corvette, but sometimes we need to remember that there are those who are less fortunate, or could simply use a little help in times of need. The importance of helping others should never wane, but when we can combine that with one of our own passions, it really makes the process all that much more rewarding.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley is giving away a fully restored 1967 Corvette Sting Ray and a brand new 2015 Corvette Z06. The winning ticket for the 1967 Corvette will be pulled on November 7, 2015 and the winning ticket for the 2015 Corvette Z06 will be pulled on December 12, 2015.

If winning your dream car isn’t enough, they are also including a $20,000 cash prize to go with each car. The charity will be displaying these cars at several different car shows and auctions throughout the year if you are fortunate enough to catch one.

1967 Corvette Sting Ray Convertible

  • All numbers matching Sting Ray
  • Complete frame-off restoration
  • 427 cubic-inch V8 engine – 435 hp
  • Four-speed manual transmission
  • Rally Red fresh paint & black stripe
  • Plush red interior
  • Black canvas soft top
  • Factory side exhaust pipes
  • Aluminum wheels with red-line tires
The raffle will be held on the 7th day in November 2015, at 9:00 am PST in Fresno, CA in accordance with the 22nd Annual Collector Car Drawing. The proceeds will be benefitting the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley, Inc.

The winner will receive a gorgeous 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray convertible, along with a cash prize in the sum of $20,000. Now that should be more then enough to pay the yearly fees along with plenty of gasoline, and maybe a few extra sets of tires should you accidentally spin them once or twice.

If you are a Corvette lover, we don’t need to tell you this is one great example of a C2 Sting Ray. There were 22,940 Corvettes produced this year, and they were sold for $4,240 in the base-model configuration.

The bulge in the hood was unique to the big-block cars but was redesigned into a scoop for this year, and the parking brake was changed to a center-mounted lever. This 427 cubic-inch engine featured solid lifters and was the last offered with fuel injection for 15 years, until 1982.

There are so many great Corvettes out there to choose from, but the C2 generation Vettes are well loved by the masses. If we were to pick a classic Corvette to cruise the roads with, top down, on a warm summer night, we couldn’t think of a car much better then this one.

While the current value of this car may be up to interpretation due to restoration and the amount of existing original hardware, it is worth mentioning that this car is worth well over $100,000 more then it cost when originally sold. If anything the prices should continue to climb on these gorgeous cars as they become older and more scarce. Considering the cost to the winner, this should prove to be quite an investment!

  • Seven-speed manual transmission
  • Z07 Performance Package

There will be a raffle held on the 12th day in December 2015, of which the proceeds will be benefitting the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley, Inc. The winner will receive an awesome 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 coupe, equipped with the awesome Z07 package, along with a cash prize in the sum of $20,000. Thanks to the generous cash prize, you won’t have to worry about the taxes or yearly fees. Additionally you should have enough left over to purchase plenty of gasoline, and a few track days where you can really stretch the legs of your new supercar.

For those unfamiliar with just how impressive this car truly is we’d like to briefly fill you in. When equipped with the 7-speed manual transmission, the car runs from 0-60 mph in just 3.2 seconds, and runs the quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds at 127 mph. Should the car be blessed with the Z07 package, as this Vette is, the Z06 is able to come to a stop from 60 mph in just 99.6 feet, and pull a tear-jerking 1.2 g of sustained-lateral acceleration.

There are so many great Corvettes available now, and while some of the earlier examples keep climbing in value, others are becoming more affordable to more people, and we love it. That being said, having driven the Z07 equipped C7 Z06 on track, we can tell you that it’s about as close to driving a C7.R as you’ll ever get. The engineers at GM were able to package this race-bred Corvette in a vehicle that can be as equally refined, maintaining all of the luxury appointments you could desire in a sports car.

The RMHCCV

According to its web-site, Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley (RMHCCV), “provides a ‘home away from home’ for families while their children are being treated in a local medical facility. Guests who stay in one of our 18 rooms enjoy: two queen full-size beds, satellite TV, and a restroom. Families share common living areas such as the: kitchens, living rooms, computer labs, and laundry rooms.” Each year, the Central Valley Ronald McDonald House is “home” to over 1,000 people.

1796990_596840647036400_1693725187_oTo keep the doors open, RMHCCV relies on support from the public. The Annual Collector Car Drawing is its biggest fundraiser. Over the years the organization has given away cars such as a 1965 Shelby Cobra, 1969 Camaro, 2005 Ford GT, and many more cars that anyone would love to have in their collection.

The RMHCCV has plans to grow in the near future, which will allow it to serve even more families who are going through such a difficult time in their lives. Now more than ever is a critical time to show you support and enter to win one or both of these amazing cars.

Those of us here at Corvette Online cannot express enough how important we believe in helping others. We understand that not everyone is always in a position to participate, but there are certainly many of us that are. Clearly we all love Corvettes, and would be tickled red and yellow to win either one of these awesome sports cars.

So why not pick up a few tickets?  There are a lot of families out there that could use our help, and lending a hand is important when you have the means. That being said, one lucky winner will be driving away one awesome Vette and a bag of cash! We have several participants here at Corvette Online, and will certainly be spreading the word among our own friends and families. We hope you will all do the same!

Ticket Prices are structured as follows:

  • $3 for 1 ticket
  • $5 for 2 tickets
  • $10 for 5 tickets
