Street Feature: The Old School Hot-Rod Gasser “Gangreen”

1200-4

It’s not every day that you see a true, old school style gasser like this 1951 Chevrolet owned by Khyle Milham out of Sequim, Washington. Everything is true to the style from the fiberglass front fenders and hood straight down to the decals on the body. It’s the kind of green that catches your eye right away and the kind of sound that catches your ear from across the lot.

This car looks good from every angle. The detail is spectacular and the care taken with powder-coating the parts underneath is nothing short of impressive!

Although Khyle only bought the car a couple of years ago, it is the same car he had back in highschool. Not the same kind of car, this is the same car. Khyle sold the car decades ago, but ended up buying it again. He didn’t buy it back directly from the person he sold it to, but from the second owner after that, and the second owner had the car for 42 years!

Khyle built this as a tribute to a ’37 Chevy Coupe racecar that he had built in high school. “I didn’t build it to race,” Khyle explained that it was a sense of nostalgia that enticed him to build this car the way that he did. “But I have raced it just so I could see what it could do.”

1200-39

It’s built with a small-block 383 cubic-inch stroker motor featuring a tunnel-ram intake and dual four-barrel Quick Fuel carburetors. The drivetrain is finished out by a 4-speed manual transmission and Ford 9-inch rearend with 4.11:1 gearing.

The interior has obviously been revamped to feature the detailed look of a classic gasser with a roll cage and bucket seats. The instrument cluster has also been upgraded and now features a set of stunning Auto Meter Gauges.

If you would like us to include your car in our Street Feature series, just send us an email. We’d love to see what your driving. We’re not looking for perfect, just passion, and if you love your car the odds are good that we will love it too.
