Street Feature: Joel And Sharron’s Orange Beauty 1968 Chevy C10

1200-9 [1]

The popularity of trucks in the vintage automotive world has skyrocketed over the last few years and this 1968 Chevy C10 is a great look into the reason why. The truck belongs to Joel and Sharron Clark of Sequim, Washington, and stands out at any show. The bright orange paint isn’t the only reason either — the subtle pin-striping really adds the the look.

Joel did the pin-striping himself and has had the truck for just about a year. It features a spritely 327 cubic-inch engine with an Edelbrock [5] intake manifold, camshaft kit, turbo-400 transmission, 3.73:1 geared rearend, and 600 cfm Edelbrock carburetor. The shift setup on the automatic transmission has been setup to look like a floor-style standard shift system in a truck like this.

A few other modifications to the truck include a custom grill, custom cowl induction hood, and the gas tank has been moved to the rear near the axle. “I just really like the look of these trucks,” Joel explained. “It has classic lines.” You won’t find an argument from us on that one, the classic lines on these C10 trucks is unmistakable and just a clean, tough look. We love it.

If you love it, odds are good that we will too, so shoot us an email [12] with a couple pictures and a little information on your ride, you might just see it here as one of our Street Features [13]. Still a work in progress? Now worries, we’d always like to see a project for our What Are You Working On [14] series.
