BOTMDanchuk

Introducing our latest Babe Of The Month, miss Christine Danchuk. This is a special Babe Of The Month for us, as Christine reached out to us wanting to be shot. We were happy to oblige and brighten her day and fulfill her wish! Now you’re probably thinking to yourself, “Danchuk, that sounds familiar!” There’s a good reason for that, as she’s the daughter of Mr. Danchuk, who started up Danchuk Manufacturing with his brother. They have been making 1955-57 Chevrolet parts since 1976, and are located in Santa Ana, California.

At the shoot, Christine had a smile that could light up a room, and was very energetic for us. Her smiling personality could warm the heart of even the meanest person and she was happy as can be. We were inside her dad’s garage, which was chocked full of classics. We were lucky enough to see this garage, and shoot Christine with a few of them. We shot with his two 1955 Bel Air convertibles, along with her uncle’s bright red 1962 Corvette. The garage also stored about twenty other cars, all restored to showroom condition.

Now For The Serious Questions About Christine

Editor: What’s one thing that most people don’t know about you?

Christine Danchuk: “One thing people don’t know about me is that I love to cook. I wish I didn’t have to work so much, so I could spend more time in the kitchen cooking Italian, Mexican, Russian, Polish, and American dishes. I really like cooking Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for my family. Good food brings people together.”

Editor: What do you look for in men, what are your likes and dislikes?

CD: “I think honesty is an important quality. I feel a relationship cannot last without trust and respect. No jealously because insecure people need to see a therapist to work out their issues. Humility, intelligence, and humor are also good qualities in a guy. I want a guy that I can engage in meaningful conversations with and makes me laugh with his silly sense of humor. I love to laugh!!!”

IMG_8329Editor: If you could have only one super power, what would it be?

CD: “My super power would be the power of mimicry, the ability to copy or absorb another’s powers or skills. I would be able to rock out on my guitar like Jimmy Hendrix, I would be able to write cool melodies like Cold Play, dance like Michael Jackson and have a brain as wise as Einstein. It would be nice to excel at everything, but unrealistic of course.”

Editor: What’s one thing that you can’t live without?

CD: “I can’t live without carbs; I love pastas, bread, chips and sprinkled doughnuts. I usually try to eat pretty healthy-no red meat, but I do let myself indulge in some fattening foods. It’s just all in moderation. I hate that word ‘moderation.'[laughs]”

Editor: What’s your favorite vacation that you have taken so far?

CD: “My all time favorite vacay has to be vacationing in the Bahamas. I love the Caribbean, the crystal blue waters, and the white warm sand, it is true paradise. But, Europe also holds a special place in my heart, especially London and Amsterdam. There’s something about the culture, the art, the old architecture, and the city life that draws me in. The best part is taking tours of the castles and old historic buildings. The question I always ask is, ‘are they haunted?’ I like a good ghost story, that’s why I watch Ghost Adventures. This is also why I love visiting ghost towns across the good ole USA! My next stop is Tombstone, Arizona. I hope I see a ghost! Maybe the ghost of Doc Holliday or Wyatt Earp!”

Editor: What are you doing for work now?

CD: “I have been working at Danchuk Manufacturing for the last six years. I’m trying to follow in my father’s and uncle’s footsteps by learning the car industry and manufacturing business. I’m involved in many different projects here at Danchuk. I model for the SEMA posters, I’m the host for our new YouTube channel DanchukUSA, where I discuss and showcase our new manufactured parts. I also work in the accounting department. I actually never thought I would be working for my father’s business. I went to school at the University of California, Irvine for Psychology and received my masters degree in social work and child/family therapy at USC. Before working with Danchuk, I worked with children and teens with severe psychological disorders for almost 10 years. It’s a big change working in the car industry, but I love it!”

IMG_8696Editor: Why are you a model? Who inspires you with modeling?

CD: “I’m not really a model. I just love the camera and like to pose with cars for fun! I just see the beauty in restored cars and I just want to be a part of that beauty. If I was 5’11 then I would have loved to have been a runway model, but my legs are a little too short![laughs]”

Editor: Who do you look up to in life?

CD: “Through all the good and turbulent experiences in my life, my savior and Lord Jesus has always been my strength and inspiration. Also, I have been so fortunate to have a mother and father who have encouraged me to work hard and follow my heart and dreams. I can always count on their love and support.”

Editor: What is your dream car?

CD: “I love any classic American muscle car, such as a red convertible 1970 454 Chevelle. I also love any restored 57-62 Corvette. I want a ’55 black Chevy Hardtop Sedan that I’m going to make into a little Hotrod that I can do burn outs and race around the streets. I’m a race car driver at heart! I feel the need for speed!!! A 1932 and 1934 roadster is an ideal car for me too! If I had to pick a more modern car, I would have to go with an Aston Martin…dad don’t kill me.”

IMG_9142Editor: What was it like growing up in one huge car family?

CD: “I’ve had the luxury of cruising around town in some sweet rides. My dad would bring home an old classic on the weekends and our family would go for a ride, blasting the oldies music from the 50s and 60s. My oldest memory is being so little, that I would have to stand up just to peep out the side window of one of my dad’s old Chevys. One of Danchuk’s first manufactured parts was the hood bird for the ’55 and ’56 Chevy. I actually thought the hood bird was a very heavy toy airplane, and I would run around the house playing with it. The coolest thing growing up was watching my dad race cars for fun during the 80s at the Orange County International Drag Strip. His license plate read, ‘luv2rac.’ I was so little, I couldn’t see over the wooden fence, so I would find a small hole in the wood to look out. I grew up watching ‘Heart like a Wheel,’ the drag race story of one of the first female race car drivers, Shirley Muldowney.  I always wanted to be a racecar driver, but it wasn’t in my future.”

Editor: What is your favorite car in the collection?

CD: “A silver 1963 Spilt Window Corvette with Fuel Injection that my dad is in the process of restoring. The lemon twist yellow 1970 427 Plymonth Hemi Cuda is super cool too. I love just about any classic car. They all are beautiful in their own way.”

Editor: What do you like to do for fun?

CD: “For fun, I enjoy playing my acoustic and electric guitars. I also love hiking anywhere in nature. I went a few months ago to Sedona, Arizona and the view of the large rocks and mountains was a beautiful backdrop to hike along. I feel calm and relaxed in nature, as long as I don’t run into any bears or moose. I enjoy fishing, it’s an easy going hobby and a good way to get a nice tan, while fishing on the river on a hot day. I like reading a good true crime book, I’m always trying to understand more of the mind of sociopaths and psychopaths. Being a therapist in the past, we seem to contemplate the crazy actions and behaviors of people.  I also love shopping, what girl doesn’t?  I never get tired of shopping for clothes and shoes, especially platforms and high heels. As my hair stylist always says, ‘the higher the heel, the closer to God.'”
