Tech Review: Lightweight, High Output Batteries from Lithium Pros
by Don Creason on February 18, 2013
The first two parts covered on our BlownZ ProCharger-blown 388ci LS motor was block prep and the short block assembly. This time around, we’ll go into detail on the Trick Flow Specialties/Total Engine Airflow cylinder heads, what they’re all about and why they were chosen for this application.

When it came time to choose brakes for our Project Blown Z Camaro, there was really only one choice: Moser Engineering’s new Performance Drag Brake kit. Moser didn’t just copy another manufacturer’s kit; they started with a clean sheet of paper and designed these new brakes from the ground-up.
We know the best way to keep our ProCharged 388ci LSX race engine healthy and running strong pass after pass is a stout oiling system. But we figured why not unleash even more power with a dry sump system – and that’s exactly what we did with our oil system from Peterson Fluid Systems. Check it out inside…
On a street LS motor, valvetrain parts can be bought “off-the-shelf”, and work great. But when you start getting into the extreme cam profiles of a serious race engine like our boosted 388ci LSX, it calls for a lot more research, and even some completely custom valvetrain parts…
Flow Testing and Cleaning BlownZ’s Injectors with RC Engineering
by Clifton Klaverweiden on August 1, 2012
With plans to make almost 1,300 RWHP, we wanted to be sure we had all of our bases covered with the fuel system in Project BlownZ. So, we took BlownZ’s fuel injectors to RC Engineering, in Torrance, California for a good cleaning and flow test, and found out exactly what goes on during the process.

We’re on a mission for traction as we try to feed 1,300 horsepower through a stock type suspension and some skinnny M/T drag radials on Project BlownZ. How do we plan to do that? Easy – with tough parts from Moser, Afco, and Wolfe Racecraft, mixed in with adjustability and endless hours of chassis tuning…
In this tech piece, we’ll take a look at how racers log and review data from a Racepak data acquisition system and how they can use that valuable information to their benefit, using examples from runs with our Project BlownZ Camaro.
Testing (and Troubles) find BlownZ during our preparation for the 2013 NMCA West 275 Drag Radial championship chase. Follow along as we strive for the mid 7-second range at over 185 mph with a ProCharger F1X Upgrade.
